apronisms

I ordered a book called Apronisms.  I originally ordered it for one of my daughters who collects aprons.  I will consider giving it to her when I finish reading it.  One of my favorites is "change the dish towel".  It means that if you change the dish towel in the kitchen, it makes the kitchen look cleaner even if it isn't.  I tried this.  It works!
I started sewing aprons for a craft show in October.  I am obsessed with aprons!  This one is with coffee cups all over it.  I am also obsessed with coffee!  The embroidery "expresso yourself" doesn't show as well as I would like, but still really cute.
Got a new phone.  a real techy one.  The HTC Hero. I have spent most of the last 2 days trying to get used to it.  When that happens, I will probably love it.
Love making aprons from vintage pillow cases and handkerchiefs!

Little Dutch doll having coffee. Bottom of apron fabric has wooden shoes.

Expresso Yourself!

Sooo vintage!! Gotta have the pearls.
Till next time.... ya'll keep stitchin'!  marsha

update

Haven't posted in a while.  My youngest daughter and her family moved to North Carolina this week.  Still strange that they are not within driving distance.  But I will be up there for the birth of the new baby in Oct.
My latest projects are going nicely.  Participating in an embroidery swap thru Quilting Gallery.  I love these swaps.  So fun to get a surprise from far away and make a new friend.  My other project has started, but I can't reveal much of it yet.  Sort of a  surprise.  I will post pics when finished. I would love to hear from other stitchers out there!
Till next time--- keep stitching    Marsha

more whinings

Got started last nite on the new Mini swap with Quilting Gallery.  I wonder how many times I can embroider one flower petal before I decide what I want.  Now that I have decided, I don't have the right color of yellow thread. Arrrggghhh!!!  So, now its off to Ocean Springs (30 minutes away) JUST for thread.  We don't have a fabric store here anymore.  Since I have retired, I have sooo many things I want to do.  and continue to add more projects!  I really love retirement.
My friend, Jeanette, and I are going to Ireland in June!!!  really getting excited.  will keep ya posted on the progress of the trip. and of course pics when we return... later, ya'll
